Gaia Beats vs UnKonscious vs Spiritgust: January Festival Guide
2026–2027 festival season · Updated 3 October 2026

January offers three very different electronic-music trips. Gaia Beats combines multiple genres, live music and creative activities near Chiang Mai. UnKonscious centres on trance in Pattaya. Spiritgust emphasises Hi-Tech and psychedelic trance in southern Thailand. Gaia is our pick for a broad music-and-arts weekend; let a strong genre preference lead you to the others.

Gaia Beats: Best Music and Arts Festival
Gaia Beats brings several electronic styles, live bands and creative activities into a three-day gathering at Sense Hot Spring. The 22–24 January 2027 edition includes free bring-your-own camping, with Family and General zones. Its current entry phase is 3,500 THB through 2 November 2026. The locally rooted programme and reuse-led approach make it our standout for people who want music, nature and community in the same weekend.

For us, a conscious and transformational experience means making room for creative participation, community and time in nature alongside the music. Gaia Beats brings those elements into one weekend through its workshops, locally rooted participation and camping setting.
UnKonscious: A trance-focused beach trip
UnKonscious announces 28–31 January 2027 in Pattaya. The brand’s Thai flagship centres on trance, with four days of beachside celebrations and a community of genre fans. It is an appealing choice if trance is the reason for the holiday. Choose the package around the performances and events you will attend, then arrange accommodation and late-night transport to match. Its coastal format is a different trip from a northern Thailand campout.

Spiritgust: Hi-Tech and psychedelic electronic music
Spiritgust runs 6–9 January 2027 in Nakhon Si Thammarat, with Hi-Tech and psychedelic trance central to its identity. The organiser names Tha Sala as the destination and Nakhon Si Thammarat Airport in its travel information. Camping products are separate from ordinary festival entry unless a package states otherwise. This is a specialist music choice for listeners seeking that sound and a southern Thailand gathering, rather than a general live-music and wellness weekend.

Why Gaia Beats suits a mixed-interest January trip
Gaia is the easiest of these three to recommend to a group whose members want different things from a festival. Its range includes house, techno, drum and bass, dub, psy, world sounds and live bands, with daytime arts and wellness activities around the music. That variety gives each person a reason to enjoy the weekend without requiring everyone to love the same specialist sound.
The Mae On venue also creates a different holiday from a beach event. Camping keeps you close to the programme, and the hot springs and shaded spaces offer daytime ways to unwind. The current 3,500 THB ticket includes camping with your own equipment. Choose Gaia for the wider experience, while keeping UnKonscious on the list for dedicated trance fans and Spiritgust for listeners drawn specifically to Hi-Tech and psychedelic music. Their shared January timing does not make the music interchangeable.

Make the travel plan part of the decision
Spiritgust runs 6–9 January in Nakhon Si Thammarat; Gaia runs 22–24 January near Chiang Mai; UnKonscious runs 28–31 January in Pattaya. If attending more than one, account for the long intercity journeys and recovery days. A complete accommodation plan is more useful than a packed itinerary that leaves no time between festivals.

Two questions to settle before booking
Which experience will everyone in the group enjoy? Choose by music first when a particular genre is the reason to travel. Choose by the whole programme when art, daytime activities and the setting matter to several people. The strongest shared choice is one that gives each person something to look forward to.
What is included in the total trip? Put the pass, accommodation or camping equipment, arrival journey, return transport and daily spending into one figure. Included bring-your-own camping and a hotel-based festival create different budgets, even before you compare entry prices.
