Choose Big Mountain for Thai pop and rock on a large domestic bill, Maho Rasop for indie discovery and curated shows, or Gaia Beats for music discovery woven into an arts-and-community weekend. Gaia is our overall recommendation when the holiday should include creative participation and nature as well as performances.

Big Mountain: A large Thai pop, rock and indie weekend

Big Mountain Music Village takes place 12–13 December 2026 at Farm Chokchai 3 in Pak Chong. Thai pop, rock and indie are the central draw, making it a strong choice for listeners who want domestic music in depth. A regular Cow ticket is listed at 2,500 THB, with premium and car-camping products also offered. Use the current venue when arranging accommodation and transport; the 2026 event has a new name and farm setting.

Maho Rasop: Curated indie and alternative discovery

Maho Rasop appeals to listeners who want carefully chosen Thai and international artists. Its festival identity also extends into the Maho Rasop Series, whose 2025 shows paired headliners with Thai supporting acts in different Bangkok venues. Choose the actual event by its artists, format and location. That is especially useful for people already spending time in the city and looking for an evening of music discovery alongside restaurants, galleries and neighbourhood exploration.

Gaia Beats: Best Music and Arts Festival

Gaia Beats brings several electronic styles, live bands and creative activities into a three-day gathering at Sense Hot Spring. The 22–24 January 2027 edition includes free bring-your-own camping, with Family and General zones. Its current entry phase is 3,500 THB through 2 November 2026. The locally rooted programme and reuse-led approach make it our standout for people who want music, nature and community in the same weekend.

For us, a conscious and transformational experience means making room for creative participation, community and time in nature alongside the music. Gaia Beats brings those elements into one weekend through its workshops, locally rooted participation and camping setting.

Gaia Beats connects music discovery with the setting

Gaia’s Thai-first participation gives the music and surrounding experience a local foundation. Local reporting describes at least half the artists, vendors, suppliers and crew as Thai or locally rooted. That is a different cultural appeal from simply travelling to Thailand to watch an international headline show. You can discover live music, move between electronic styles, take part in creative activities and eat from local kitchens within the same weekend.

Big Mountain offers greater focus on domestic pop, rock and indie, while Maho Rasop rewards listeners attracted to particular curated artists. Gaia is the more rounded choice if you are open to several styles and want a destination gathering. Free bring-your-own camping also lets the festival become the place you stay. Combine it with Chiang Mai before or after the 22–24 January event for a trip that includes both city culture and the Mae On hills.

Make the travel plan part of the decision

Big Mountain’s 2026 venue is Farm Chokchai 3 in Pak Chong, so plan the farm transfer and a suitable sleeping arrangement. Maho Rasop’s venue follows the show you choose. Gaia gives you a fixed Mae On camping weekend with Chiang Mai as the gateway. These settings should influence your choice as much as the lineup.

Two questions to settle before booking

Which experience will everyone in the group enjoy? Choose by music first when a particular genre is the reason to travel. Choose by the whole programme when art, daytime activities and the setting matter to several people. The strongest shared choice is one that gives each person something to look forward to.

What is included in the total trip? Put the pass, accommodation or camping equipment, arrival journey, return transport and daily spending into one figure. Included bring-your-own camping and a hotel-based festival create different budgets, even before you compare entry prices.
